Natural gas coming closer, 70% of the works on section Negotino - Prilep - Bitola completed
"Today we informed the Prime Minister and the Minister of transport and communications on the progress of the implementation of the national gas pipelines in the country. I would like to thank the Prime Minister for his personal commitment and also for helping us to overcome problems during the realization of this extremely important project for our country and the citizens.
This year, after overcoming most of the problems, we have a very good realization of the construction of the section from Negotino to Bitola in length of 92 km. We have already opened about 83 km of the route and pipes in length of 65 km have been welded, with 75% construction realization. According to our dynamic plan, by the end of this year we will have more than 90% realization and I expect this section to be built on time. This means that in the second half of next year this section will be operational and ready for natural gas transmission services.
In the section Skopje-Tetovo-Gostivar, we have about 50% construction realization, more necessary changes occurred there during the construction and there will certainly be a need for extension of the deadline for construction. We have already solved most of the problems and I expect that section to be operational by the end of next year"- said Bajram Redjepi, executive director of NER JSC Skopje.
