Gas interconnection with Greece for a stable supply of gas
Published on: 30/03/2019 NER JSC SKOPJE

Today, we informed the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government, the Minister of transport and communications and the remaining part of the delegation about the realization of the project on the gas pipeline section from Negotino to Bitola.

We were pleased to inform them that over 90 % of the property and legal issues have been solved, about 33 km of pipes have been welded and there is an open route of over 52 km and 75 km resolved expropriation for this section. We expect that this project will be

realized according to the dynamic plan and with this dynamics, proposed at the beginning of the year, I hope to exceed it and in the second half of next year this section to be operational, filled with gas and used to supply this region. Also there is  a similar situation in the

other sections,  a large part of the unresolved issues has been resolved and I expect that the other two  sections will be also realized according to our predicted dynamics. I am pleased to inform you that we have already prepared a feasibility study for the gas interconnection

with Greece, these days the designing on the field should begin and I expect that at the beginning of next year we will have an infrastructure project, a basic design and a decision regarding the environmental impact. The implementation of this very important section,

the gas interconnection with Greece, is expected to start in the second quarter of next year - said Bajram Redzepi, executive director of NER.
